Speaking at a programme held at the Government ITI men in Kadri, the MLA said that the state government had entered into an MoU for 10 years, with Tata Technologies Ltd, to upgrade 150 ITIs in the country.
Out of the total cost, the state government has contributed Rs 657 crore while Tata Technologies Limited TTL and its industry partners contributed Rs 4,080 crore. The state has also spent an additional Rs 220 crore to create dedicated workshops and technology labs at these 150 ITIs.
The Karnataka Government has developed the new-look ITIs in association with Tata Technologies. The revamped ITIs will provide training, employment, and entrepreneurship to over one lakh individuals every year through short- and long-term courses. The total investment under this project is pegged at 4,600 crores.
