Press release
Warwick, October 23, 2017 – Tata Technologies, a global leader in engineering outsourcing and product development IT services, today announced that it has recruited 31 new graduates on its 2017 Developing Engineers Scheme.
Tata Technologies has a regular intake of graduates each year, with 31 in 2017 being the highest intake yet, building on the 47 graduates recruited over the past two years.
The programme takes four years to complete and the graduate trainees will be measured against the Engineering Council’s “UK Specification” with the opportunity to also complete a Master’s degree. The programme also gives the graduates an opportunity to achieve chartership with the IMechE (Institution of Mechanical Engineers) or the IET (Institution of Engineering and Technology), through the company’s Monitored Professional Development Scheme.
The graduates will learn and develop skills in a variety of fields including electrical, project management, manufacturing and virtual integration, working on projects across the automotive, aerospace and industrial machinery sectors.
Whilst the intake will be based at Tata Technologies’ new European headquarters, the European Innovation & Development Centre (EIDC) in Warwick, they will also work on projects across customers’ sites in the UK and overseas.
The recruitment drive is an essential component of Tata Technologies’ European growth strategy and follows the recent £20 million investment in the development of the new EIDC in the UK.
Almost a third of the graduate engineers on this year’s scheme have already worked with Tata Technologies on their ‘Ready Engineer’ programme, an annual internship programme with regional UK universities. The experiences that they gained on the programme helped to support and inspire the students into a career in engineering.
Commenting on the new graduate intake, Nick Sale, Chief Operating Officer of Tata Technologies Europe, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer these impressive graduates a place on our Developing Engineers programme and continue to support the development of the engineers of tomorrow. Tata Technologies can offer aspiring engineers challenging, exciting and rewarding work through the opportunity be a part of cutting edge and innovative projects with forward thinking manufacturers.”
