Die Design

Die design is a complex process involving several designs rules, international standards, company wide design practice, customer preferences & available database of standard components, tools and manufacturing facilities. Due to dynamic requirements and iterative nature of the process, Die design calls for a Knowledge Based System.

It begins with the concept of Environment. The Customer?s practices and production requirements play a major role in environment settings

The Component shape and complexity affect many element selections and the choice of accessories required. Tool and Press related inputs are also required at this stage. Elements selection is based on the Knowledge Based Functional Model and user choices.

The application is being designed at customer?s premises and entails the domain skills of actual Die Designers. It is expected that this new approach will give dramatic collapse in the design cycle time and would encapsulate the Die Designers knowledge in the system, which will enable to function for years.
